How to Change Audio Output during a Call in Secure Chat

How to Change Audio Output during a Call in Secure Chat

Introduction:

Secure Chat allows you to seamlessly switch between different audio output options during a call, providing you with the flexibility to use headphones, Bluetooth audio, or the device's built-in speaker. This guide will walk you through the steps to change the audio output method according to your preference while on a call.

Step-by-Step Guide:

Step 1: Connect Headphones or Bluetooth Audio
Ensure that your headphones or Bluetooth audio device is connected to your device before making a call. Once connected, you'll be ready to switch to your desired audio output method.

Step 2: Access the Audio Output Menu
While you're on a call, you'll notice that the 'Speaker' button changes to an 'Audio' button. This dynamic button icon indicates the connected device (headphones or Bluetooth).

Step 3: Choose the Audio Output Method
Tap on the 'Audio' button to open the Audio Output Menu. You'll see four options: Phone, Speaker, Headphones, and the name of the connected Bluetooth device.

Step 4: Select Your Preferred Audio Output
From the Audio Output Menu, choose the audio output method you want to use during the call:
  1. Phone: This option uses your phone's default audio output, typically the phone's earpiece or loudspeaker.
  2. Speaker: Select this option to use the loudspeaker of your device.
  3. Headphones: If you have connected headphones to your device, this option allows you to use them for the call.
  4. Bluetooth device name: If you have paired and connected a Bluetooth audio device, its name will appear here. You can choose this option to use the connected Bluetooth device.

Step 5: Enjoy Your Call with the New Audio Output
Once you've selected your preferred audio output method, the Audio Output Menu will be dismissed, and your call audio will now be routed through your chosen output method. You can now enjoy a crystal-clear call using your desired audio output.

Extensions:

Minimize the Call:
If you need to access other features during the call, you can tap the 'Audio' button to minimize the call screen. A custom green bar will appear at the top of the screen, allowing you to continue using Secure Chat without interrupting the call.

Selecting Audio Output from Minimized Call:
While the call is minimized, you can tap the green bar to bring up the Audio Output Menu. From there, follow the same steps as mentioned above (Step 3 and Step 4) to choose your desired audio output method.

Dismissing the Audio Output Menu:
To dismiss the Audio Output Menu without making any changes, tap outside the menu, and it will be automatically closed.

Limitations on Audio Output Options:
The Audio Output Menu will only appear when you have connected headphones or Bluetooth audio to your device. If you are not using any external audio devices, the menu won't be displayed. Additionally, the menu won't appear when you tap the 'Audio' button if your device is not connected to Bluetooth or headphones, and you are using the phone's speaker for the call.

Congratulations! You've learned how to change the audio output during a call in Secure Chat. Whether you prefer headphones for private conversations or a Bluetooth audio device for hands-free communication, Secure Chat offers you the freedom to switch between audio output methods seamlessly. Enjoy your calls with the audio output that suits you best!
