Step-by-Step Guide:
Step 1: Select the Message
Open Secure Chat and navigate to the chat containing the message you want to forward. Locate the specific message you wish to share and long-press on it to activate the message options menu.
Step 2: Choose "Forward"
From the message options menu, select the "Forward" option. The system will prompt you to select the message(s) you want to forward.
Step 3: Select Message(s)
Choose the message(s) you want to forward by tapping on each one. Once selected, tap the "Next" button to proceed.
Step 4: Choose Contacts
System prompts you to select the contact(s) you want to forward the message(s) to. Scroll through your contacts list and tap on the desired contact(s).
Step 5: Confirm Forwarding
Review the selected contact(s) and tap the "Forward" button to confirm. The system will then send the selected message(s) to the specified contact(s).
Extensions:
Forwarding Messages with FYEO Timer
If you attempt to forward a message received with the "For Your Eyes Only" (FYEO) timer present, the system will indicate that the forward functionality is not available for these messages.
Forwarding Messages with TTL Timer
If you attempt to forward a message received with the "Time To Live" (TTL) timer only, the system will prompt you to select a contact to forward the message to. After selecting a contact, the system will send the message to the specified contact.
Editing Forwarded Messages
You cannot edit forwarded messages. The edit option will not be available when long-pressing on a forwarded message.
Forwarding to Single Contact
When forwarding a file or message to a single contact, the message will be forwarded to the selected contact, and you will be automatically redirected to the chat fragment with the chosen contact. Tapping the back button will return you to the Recent Chats & Calls screen.
Forwarding to Multiple Contacts
When forwarding to multiple contacts, the message will be forwarded to the selected contacts, and you will remain in the current chat fragment. Tapping the back button will return you to the Recent Chats & Calls screen.
